Liam is the sweetest of the sweet. He is loving, compassionate and funny. He has a very dry sense of humor that always comes out of left field and inevitably leads all those around him to laugh right out loud!

He loves camping, spending time outdoors and is currently enjoying being a Webelo in the Cub Scout program. He loves trains, video games, and his iPad. He loves to cuddle with his two best friends (our Cocker Spaniels, Hershey and Nikki) as well as his family, which consists of dad, mom, his 2 brothers and a sister. He loves tickle fights, board games, and he regularly & un-apologetically, not to mention, very obviously cheats at cards!

Liam was also diagnosed in 2005 with A-T. He was 4 years old. At the time he was diagnosed he was up and running, hardly ever stood still, and getting himself into one bout of trouble after another. Now Liam spends 90% of his time in a power wheelchair that he christened, "Da Bomb." He received his power chair at the beginning of 2011, and we would like nothing more than to find a cure so we can pack away "Da Bomb" and never have need of it again. Thank you for helping us to achieve this dream. The Cowands

Our Giving Circle
By donating here on our Giving Circle, you are helping fund much needed research to find life-improving therapies and a cure for ataxia-telangiectasia (A-T). The A-T Children's Project is working hard to find a drug that will slow the cells from dying in our kids' brains. This will help them be able to walk, talk, eat, and many other things for much longer. And, they fund the A-T Clinical Center at Johns Hopkins where there are now experts who help kids with A-T. These important projects only happen because of funding from friends and families of kids with A-T.

We appreciate your fighting A-T with us! We cannot win this battle without you!

Thank you for all of your love, prayers and support!

The Cowands

What is A-T?

A-T is a rare, fatal, progressive genetic disease that affects children. Imagine a disease that combines the worst symptoms of muscular dystrophy, cerebral palsy, cystic fibrosis, immune deficiencies and cancer. Children with A-T are usually confined to wheelchairs by age 10 and often do not survive their teens. Because A-T is a multi-system disease, scientists believe that A-T research will help more prevalent diseases such as Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, AIDS, and cancer.
