I am Jackie Green a radio personality on 97.9 WGRD! I have been a runner for many years including running for Ferris State University. AT is an awful disease affecting children, these kids need our help! With a lot of training under my belt I hope to break 3:30:00 at the Walt Disney Marathon, I already reached my goal of 600 dollars, let's see if we can make it 2000!!!

What is A-T?

Imagine a disease that combines the worst symptoms of muscular dystrophy, cerebral palsy, cystic fibrosis, immune deficiencies, and cancer. Children with A-T are usually confined to wheelchairs by age 10 and often do not survive their teens. Because A-T is a multi-system disease, scientists believe that A-T research will help more prevalent diseases such as Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, AIDS, and cancer.

Independent Charities Seal of Excellence The Ataxia Telangiectasia Children's Project, better known as the A-T Children's Project, is a non-profit organization that raises funds to support and coordinate first-rate biomedical research projects, scientific conferences and a clinical center aimed at finding a cure or life-improving therapies for ataxia-telangiectasia, a lethal genetic disease that attacks children, causing progressive loss of muscle control, immune system problems, and a strikingly high rate of cancer, especially leukemia and lymphoma.

The A-T Children's Project is a registered charity in both the United States and Canada.
