The A-T CureTeam weekend from January 11-13 proved to be a huge success – for both crossing finish lines and raising funds. In total, the 2012 A-T CureTeam runners raised $781,784 for A-T research. At a pasta dinner, A-TCP volunteer President and Co-founder Brad Margus promised a crowd of over 500 runners and supporters that the funds would be put to good use in 2013, describing new approaches for preventing brain cells from dying, improving muscle control, and alleviating A-T-related problems involving cancer and the immune system.
The weekend included an A-T family meet-and-greet afternoon, as well as family 5K, half marathon and full marathon races, all in a warm, sunny climate.
