A-T Cancer Consultations at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital

Read Announcement

St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, located in Memphis, Tennessee, is the world's premiere center for research and treatment of potentially fatal childhood diseases, including cancer and certain blood, genetic and immunodeficiency disorders. The hospital's mission is to cure children of catastrophic diseases through treatment and research.

Cancer appears at a strikingly high frequency in children with A-T. The leadership of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital allows consultations at the distinguished institution for children with A-T who develop cancer.

Cancer consultations at St. Jude have made it possible to optimize treatment by developing and refining protocols for the types of cancers commonly seen in A-T patients. In addition, whenever possible, St. Jude researchers collected leukemia and lymphoma cells from patients, studying them, and storing them in a cell bank for future investigations.

When A-T patients develop cancer, their local oncologists are encouraged to seek consultations from Dr. John T. Sandlund, Director of the Leukemia/Lymphoma Clinic at St. Jude. Physicians seeking more information should contact Dr. Sandlund at:
