Travel Assistance to A-T Clinical Center
Through the generous donation of an A-T family, the A-T Children’s Project is offering financial assistance for families in the US and Canada who might need help in order to attend the A-T Clinical Center at Johns Hopkins Children’s Center.
Currently, the following financial assistance is frequently available through Johns Hopkins and coordinated by the A-T Clinical Center:
- Flight vouchers through Southwest Airlines
- Believe in Tomorrow Children’s House, a hospital housing program offering accommodations at very reasonable costs (patients under 19 years of age)
- Garage parking
Even with these supports in place, the expenses for a trip like this often leave a gap for families which can make a trip to Baltimore and Johns Hopkins too financially difficult.
The A-T Children’s Project will be able to send a one-time reimbursement of up to $400 for allowable expenses to families who need assistance. Expenses for the person(s) with A-T and caregiver(s) can include meals, accommodations, gas, and cabs or ride shares.
This assistance is only available to residents of Canada and United States. Requests must be made prior to the clinic visit, and reimbursements will be made after the family has attended. This program will begin in June 2022 and will run until funds are exhausted.
